Living The Prairie With Elegance

Exquisite Contemporary home that invites the beauty of nature into its interior.   The unique architectural features sets the stage for relaxation and beauty. It reminded me of a home you may find on the Plains of America. Prairie grasses lead the way to the entrance of the home. The inspiration for the interior of the home combines Art Deco features with surrounding windows that let nature become part of the decor. What more can I say about the Pavilion and swimming pool other than stunning!. This project is one of the highlights of my career.

The is an amazing home fills the senses with life through color and style! The Foyer draws you into a spacious living area, flanked by a stone fireplace with stunning Modern artwork.  As you walk past the Living area your are welcomed into an open dining area not far from the kitchen, with luxurious, modern, Vanguard Chairs covered with a vibrant azure blue velvet. The  floor plan with it's large-scale furnishings accentuate the grandness of living in this stunning home in Montgomery OH.

Window "Design for All Seasons" European Cottage

Custom window fashions for this beautiful Dining room are a Thibaut Chinoiserie fabric in a stunning coral. This fabric choice is paired with a gothic stained window that is framed along with an oil painting in a gold leaf frame, with complementary colors of blues, greens, and coral. The panels on each side of the sliding door lead to a wonderful enclosed patio kitchen. The second room is the comfortable media room with panels that have a decorative boarder on the inside lead edge of the treatment. A coordinating boarder tape is added horizontally to the bottom of the Roman shade. The feel of this room is a bit more ethnic and organic.

This project showcase a beautiful hints of Indo-Asian decor with transitional foundational design. I have showcased custom window treatments for the Kitchen and Family room along with Fabricut wallcovering and Sherwin Williams paint. The second section for this project are 3D concept designs to continue the design theme in this beautiful home

This condo overlooking Cincinnati is a floating island in the sky. The look is Whimsical and transitional in style. Beautifully styled furnishings are enhanced by the owners unusual and artsy colored- crystal tables and unique sculptures. The overall foundation of colors have a calming affect as saturated- fun colors take the stage.

The Wright Inspiration

This lower level in inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright . From the wood and stone finishes to leaded glass and elements that surround us in nature. Another important design element was in the use of light, I did not want this to feel even slightly like one is in the basement of a home. Even though the celling height is not very tall the space still maintains an open and spacious environment. I worked with the owner who is the contractor for his own home. He did an outstanding job of building this wonderful and exciting space. David Sass is the owner/contractor.

Kitchen Design: Old Becomes New!

Total Tear-out and Remodel. I gave the space a new design and color story. We added new hardwood flooring, carpet and porcelain tile throughout this 10 year old home. The Kitchen has a complete new layout with new cabinetry, finishes, back-splash, granite counter top, Kitchen Island and lighting. The style is transitional with a subtle masculine feel. A Fresh and relaxing atmosphere sets the stage for enjoyment and entertainment.  I collaborated with Dave Carver's company which installed this kitchen.

Yes Chic can be in a country setting.! This beautiful home sits right on the edge of a lake which lends its beauty as a backdrop to the fun and gorgeous living spaces in this home.  The whole look for this space with intimate   seating and entertainment areas was created from a piece of beautiful Osborne and Little fabric which cover these fantastic wing chairs in the Living room area.

Both ideas have to do with simplicity and earthiness. Designers have been picking up on this for thousands of years. Now here is a transitional take on the blending of two ideas.

The open family room and the cozy den are inspired by the vibrant Wildlife  photos  taken by my client.  Our inspiration was the photo of Native African people near the plains of Serengeti. There is also a touch of the British Isles infused with patterns and colors found in tribal life.

ART DECO in Style

I replaced the previous fabric with a high quality gold velvet.  Velvet can be challenging because of placement. Laying out the fabric so the sheen of the nap is in the desired direction is important. I had to match as closely as possible to the original fabric to keep the look in tact. I added two beautiful Harden chairs that follow the line of the sofa as well as bring the charcoal accent color that is in the rug.

Uptown Reclaimed

Welcome to Uptown Reclaimed. This is a eclectic mix of Manhattan and the Midwest. One thing these styles have in common is the sleek and simple styling of the furniture shapes. What I like about the contribution of the Midwest is the added texture the reclaimed style furniture adds to the mix. The Color pallet has a foundation of cool grays and accented with saturated pigments of teal, chartreuse and aqua.  This is a work in progress...Check back at the end of February for window treatments, Pictures, and accessories!

Alicia Cummings is a local artist that specializes In Impressionism and Abstract Oils.
Some of her work is displayed at our Hoffman and Albers Interiors Showroom.

Inspired by Art

This project was inspired by a watercolor of a cityscape that my client owned. It is painted with fresh tones of aqua and coral. The Hickory White sofa is upholstered with a small aqua check fabric and accented with a deeper aqua and a silky brush stroke fabric with muted hues of aqua and silver and pearl. The Lexington Chair at the fireplace is a deeper teal with a fresh contrast eyelash design fabric outlining a Greek Key motif . We added a pop of the coral with a chestnut leather. This made a medium size room look more spacious and inviting.

Southern Charm

This Living and Dining Space invite you to a slower time where the Living Room was a place to relax and retreat from the everyday business of the world.  Not a place for television but at place for building relationships. We brought that environment to life in an updated way. We mixed traditional furniture styles enhanced with a new take on fabrics and colors. The fireplace is the central hub for the Living Room and the colors reflect and enriches the stone focal point. The shades are reminiscent of a Veranda which invites you to  a place of relaxation and reflection.
